Christmas celebration in Lekenik

It’s the time of year when we hold our Christmas celebration in SOS Children's Village Lekenik. Many guests, friends, numerous partners and collaborators gathered together to enjoy a rich musical and theatrical programme.

The celebration began with the performance by KUD Kolovrat, which delighted us with a selection of Christmas carols. They were followed by our youngest kids from the Little Playroom, who showed their Christmas spirit with the song “Fill Us with Light on Christmas”.

Dr Lea Sokolić, member of the SOS CVC Board of Directors, gave a welcoming address on behalf of the association SOS Children's Village Croatia and Mr. Ivica Perović, Lekenik mayor, wished everyone present merry Christmas and happy holidays.

After their speeches, we listened to author Rusmir Agačević, who recited his poem “Christmas in Lekenik” and then the Little Fairy Tale Theatre performed an excerpt from The Little Prince. The drama club also explained to us that Tools Make the Master!
Every good celebration requires music. Well-known young violinist Jana Pelikan, a piano trio and SOS Children's Village rock band Musical Dreamers all gave wonderful performances.

At the end of the official part of the programme, the MC invited everyone to the first floor to enjoy the refreshments and she wished everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
