The hiking season continues

Hikers from the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci and their friends from the Zanatlija Hiking Society in Osijek went hiking through beautiful winter countryside! They also took a course in first aid.

 This was the 4th hiking trip organized by the Little School of Hiking. Children and young people learned how to provide first aid in cases of fainting, injuries and fractures. Red Cross volunteers acted as their instructors, teaching them the basics of first aid and demonstrating injuries.

Afterwards everyone hiked across the meadows and forest paths of Donja Motičina and Martin.

In Donja Motičina kids visited a popular sledding hill. They would have enjoyed sledding down the slopes there, but unfortunately, there was no snow. Then they continued towards Martin, where they visited the Knights Templar church built in the 13th century, the only such church still standing in Croatia. Now that this entertaining and educational hike has been completed, they are already planning new hiking adventures around Slavonia!

A winner of the Dare4Care award for innovative programmes has been announced

Our umbrella organization SOS Children's Villages International included our Prepare to Leave Care Programme among three best programmes in 2019. The award went to a programme designed by SOS Children's Village Ethiopia.
