Meet Katica – the most unusual resident of our Village

As great animal lovers, our children recently welcomed a squirrel to a new, warm home.

Sunny weather brought the children outdoors and as they played, they noticed unusual activity in the beautiful pine trees growing here. It was an adorable brown squirrel. The news spread around the Village at the speed of light. The squirrel seemed particularly taken with our SOS Social Centre in Lekenik and she built her home there.

Although a bit timid, understandably for a new Village resident, she skips cheerfully from branch to branch, showing off all of her nimbleness and beauty for our children. Everyone fell in love with her and she is now known as Katica the squirrel!

Now we can safely say that even squirrels in trees know how lovely it is to live in our Village.
