Happy Mother's Day!

Every child in the SOS Children's Village has his or her own SOS mother, who builds a close relationship with them, providing them with necessary safety, love and stability. Today, both our Villages are dedicating this day to them!

Mother’s Day is a special day in our Villages. This is when we witness a truly magnificent thing, a proof that love is always rewarded with more love!

SOS mothers are the fundamental and the most important link in the SOS childcare system. To embrace a child as her own and share a life with them is a challenging, but also an indispensable and essential part of living in the SOS Children's Village. Bonds that SOS mother builds with her children are strong and long-lasting, persisting even after the children have grown into independent adults with their own families and children. SOS mother is simply always there for her children. She supports them fully, and they all know and feel that.

Children show their own appreciation in many different ways. A look in their eyes, a hug, a small token of affection when we least expect it.

Love and gratitude that our children feel for their SOS mothers and aunts is what led to these works of art created by our kids, which show without any doubt that love is truly its own reward!
