35 000 reasons for children to smile

The Internet campaign “Home Filled with a Smile” was successfully completed at the beginning of this year. The goal of the campaign, which ran from November 2, 2010 to January 2, 2011, was to raise HRK 35.000 – the amount needed to cover the annual utility expenses of an SOS house.

During the two-month campaign, we exceeded our own expectations: the campaign raised enough money to cover the 2010 utility expenses for three houses in SOS Children's Villages.

In the course of the campaign, we kept everyone informed about the progress of the campaign through an interactive, comprehensive web presentation on the SOS Children's Village Croatia web portal. The campaign also ran on Facebook and Twitter.

In those two months, we managed to reach many people and successfully bring the campaign to a close. In addition to raising the desired funds, we had two companies, Amis and Tetrapak, donating funds to cover the utility expenses for two additional SOS houses, thus ensuring a stress-free year for three houses in SOS Children's Village Croatia.

Numerous companies and media outlets supported the campaign by putting up web banners at their websites, writing feature stories, sending newsletters and announcements and publishing ads in the print media:

By supporting this campaign, our fellow citizens have proven that they recognize its importance. Their contributions have made it possible to cover the 2010 utility expenses for three houses in the SOS Children's Village.

Volunteers from A1 Croatia plant maple trees in our Village

They brought the maple tree saplings, shovels and potting soil and as soon as they had their morning coffee, they rolled up their sleeves and got to work in SOS Children's Village Lekenik!
