Mazda & SOS Children's Village still together

Zagreb, February 10th 2011. Mazda Croatia is continuing its support for SOS Children's Village for the third year in a row

In previous two years Mazda has covered year’s worth of electricity, water, gas, municipal services and all phone costs for seven different SOS Children’s Village homes and this year Mazda donated a Mazda3. The donated car will fulfill all the transport needs of the kids and young people from the village in their daily travels. Branko Maranić, managing director of Mazda Croatia, handed over the keys from the red Mazda3 to Mario Čović, director of SOS Children’s Village. The children also had a drawing workshop on which they made a drawing to be applied on the car on the theme of family and togerthness. The children surprised everyone with a little play and with a song about Mazda that they wrote with their teachers.

Mazda Croatia is one of six Mazda national sales companies that support SOS Children's villages in their own country. Donations depend on the needs of every village so until now Mazda has paid for life expenses, donated cars, renovated playgrounds and houses and financed children's trips to their biological parents.

SOS Children’s Villages is an international, non-governmental organization that was founded about 60 years ago by Austrian Hermann Gmeiner. It provides children and young people, who are unable to live with their biological families, a place where they can grow up in a loving, family-like atmosphere in their own culture and practicing their own religions. The children attend day-care and local schools and live in their new family homes together with their siblings. SOS also provides job training to young people and prepares them for a life on their own.
