Siemens d.d. has reallocated the funds for Christmas parties and gifts for business partners to donations for humanitarian associations, centres and organizations across Croatia. The total value of Siemens d.d.’s Christmas donation will amount to HRK 400,000, and the donation itself is in line with the guidelines of Siemens’ global social responsibility program, especially community welfare program Siemens Caring Hands.

Siemens d.d.’s charitable contribution will be presented to SOS Children’s Village Croatia for covering overheads in three SOS houses in Ladimirevci and Lekenik, which provide care for children without parents and parental care regardless of their race, nationality and denomination. Siemens d.d. will also provide assistance to Down Syndrome Centre from Pula by financing integration of eleven families into their rehabilitation program for persons with Down syndrome and help in remodelling and furnishing their kitchen. Split–based Juraj Bonači Education Centre will also receive a donation for equipping and modernizing ten classrooms of the centre for education and rehabilitation of children, adolescents and adults with special needs. Funds donated to Zagreb-based Krijesnica, an organization for support to children and families facing malignant diseases, will support the implementation of the program of counselling centre for patients suffering from malignant diseases and members of their families and other activities of the organization. The donation will also support the realization of planned activities of Moje dijete organization of parents of children suffering from or treated for malignant diseases from the County of Osijek and Baranya, which is headquartered in Osijek.

Regarding the Christmas donation, the president of Siemens d.d. Management Board Uwe Gregorius said: “It is important to stress that the decision to reallocate the funds for parties and presents to a charitable Christmas donation was made in unison by Management of our company as an expression of our permanent commitment to society. Globally, Siemens has been committed to promoting the welfare of society and corporate culture for 160 years already and it has also recently announced establishment of a non-for-profit Siemens Foundation headquartered in Munich, which will focus on technology, education, charity programs, science and culture. Precisely for that reason, our company Siemens d.d. is trying as much as it can to support the community in which it operates, which includes support to activities of numerous humanitarian organizations and centres from across Croatia”.

As before, the company will organize a Christmas party for its employees and a Christmas play for employees’ children.
