Basler osiguranje celebrates Safety Day in SOS Children's Village Lekenik

Zagreb Fire Department gave a demonstration and training session for children, while representatives of Basler osiguranje Zagreb presented a donation to SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

This year, insurance company Basler osiguranje Zagreb celebrated its Safety Day, traditionally held on Friday the 13th, in SOS Children's Village Lekenik. The program included a demonstration by the members of the Zagreb Fire Department and a training session on fire prevention, aimed at children. Representatives of Basler osiguranje Zagreb presented the director of the SOS Children's Village Lekenik with a donation to mark the occasion. In the entertainment portion of the program, singer Lana Jurčević performed for the delighted children.

Basler osiguranje Zagreb, the first Swiss insurance company to take root in Croatia, promotes the idea of Safety World in all its business activities.
To this end, every Friday the 13th is celebrated as Safety Day. On a day that usually has negative connotations around the world, Basler osiguranje Zagreb selects a topic of general interest to raise public awareness of various hazards to our safety. This year, Basler has struck a partnership with the Zagreb Fire Department, whose firefighters organized a demonstration in evacuation and rescue for the children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik, as well as a training session on fire prevention and fire protection.

Darko Cesar, CEO of Basler osiguranje Zagreb, was thrilled that this year’s Safety Day took place in Lekenik: “I am glad we had an opportunity to spend this day with the children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik and to present to the Village a donation marking the occasion of Safety Day. This is how our company shows commitment and care for the community in which we operate, while at the some time helping to teach the general public about the necessity and methods of fire prevention, an issue that concerns all of us. Investing in a safe and happy childhood is part of our strategy of contributing to our community.”

Firefighters from the Zagreb Fire Department demonstrated evacuation and rescue for the enthusiastic children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik. After the demonstration, these highly trained professionals took time to mingle with the kids and other guests and familiarize them with their firefighting equipment and vehicles.
Tomislav Rukavec, captain of the Novi Zagreb fire station, whose members performed the demonstration, was more than happy with their work: “I am glad that today’s demonstration gave us a chance to show how fit and prepared our firefighters are. Zagreb Fire Department joined forces with Basler osiguranje Zagreb to participate in an educational campaign meant for everyone, especially children, because they need to know about fire prevention and what to do in the case of fire.”
