Oriflame Cosmetics humanitarian activities

Every kilometer on the Oriflame’s green bike was turned into kunas – Oriflame handed over HRK 20.000 to SOS Children's Village Croatia.

In May, international cosmetics company Oriflame Cosmetics organized the Green Bike Tour fundraiser in 9 Croatian cities. The idea was to offer rides on a green bike as a way of raising funds in support of the SOS Children's Village Croatia.
During the month of May, Oriflame’s green bike was stationed at central city squares across Croatia (Zagreb, Karlovac, Slavonski Brod, Varaždin, Koprivnica, Čakovec, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik), and all interested passers-by could contribute by taking part, i.e. by riding the bike: every kilometer they crossed on the bike was turned in kunas.

After calculating all the kilometers that people crossed on the green bikes, Oriflame Cosmetics decided to donate a total of HRK 20.000 to the children of SOS Children's Village Croatia.

On behalf of Oriflame, Gordana Kadoić, the director of Oriflame Cosmetics in Croatia, handed over the voucher for the above amount to Višnja Tuškan-Krupić, the SOS Children's Village Croatia national director. Also taking part in the ceremony were Marinka Šenjug, the director of the SOS Children's Village Croatia Fundraising Department, and numerous Oriflame sales representatives.
“As a company highly sensitive to social and humanitarian issues, Oriflame supports many charity activities around the world. We are co-founders of the World Childhood Foundation, and this Green Bike charity drive continues our partnership with SOS Children's Village Croatia, both locally and globally”, said Gordana Kadoić, the director of Oriflame Cosmetics.
While offering her thanks, the national director of SOS Children's Village Croatia Višnja Tuškan-Krupić said: “We are happy to have built a genuine partnership with Oriflame. Their support of children in SOS Children's Villages has made a huge difference in our sustainability in Croatia in the past several years. Thank you for your wonderful attitude and continued financial support.”

People of almost all ages took turns at the green bike: children, school children, students, mothers, fathers, random passers-by, adrenaline addicts, even senior citizens. The oldest cyclist to participate was in Split – he was 86 years old. The youngest was 6-year old Hana from Koprivnica. Most kilometers in one go was achieved by Ivan from Slavonski Brod, who crossed 31 km. If we break down the results by cities, most rides took place in Čakovec, a total of 169 km, with Karlovac and Split coming in second and third. During the Green Bike Tour, Oriflame’s staff drove almost 2000 km by car to make sure that all the participating cities and their citizens would have the opportunity to contribute to this fundraising initiative by Oriflame and SOS Children's Village Croatia.
