SOS Children's Village Croatia and L’Oréal Adria – joining forces to make children smile

Children from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik warmly welcomed the employees of L’Oréal Adria during L’Oréal’s traditional Citizen Day.

L’Oréal’s Citizen Day celebrates their socially responsible business practices and presents their projects in partnership with the civil society. The third annual Citizen Day was dedicated to the SOS Children's Village Croatia.

To highlight the importance of education and spending quality time with children, L’Oréal employees happily threw themselves into the program designed for the children from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. After learning more about the way SOS Children's Village functions and meeting SOS families, they took part in the creative and educational workshops, and in numerous sports activities for the children. The workshops dealt with the range of topics from dance and music to art and drama, all with the basic idea of encouraging children to learn new skills, build their self-esteem and develop their talents while pursuing fun-filled activities.

“On behalf of all the employees and children from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik, I would like to thank the L’Oréal employees for dedicating their special day to us. Thank you for bringing joy to our youngest residents. They, in turn, will show their gratitude in the best possible way, by sharing their laughter and joy with you”, said Mario Čović, director of SOS Children's Village Lekenik.
“All the L’Oréal employees were really happy to take part in the rich program of creative workshops designed for SOS mothers, children and families. We believe that we contributed, at least for a day, to the joy in this village, and this opportunity to participate in the activities with the SOS children has convinced us of the importance of encouraging creative expression from the earliest age. This is the key factor in the development of children and it needs to be nurtured and encouraged at all times. Thank you to all SOS children, mothers and SOS Village co-workers who helped us in the organization of this event”, said Brigitte Streller, general director of L’Oréal Adria.

At the closing of the event, children and L’Oréal employees gave a joint performance in honor of L’Oréal’s contribution to the work of our Association, and to the development, learning and creativity of children who are an essential part of our future.
