Siemens continues to support SOS Children's Village Croatia

Siemens Croatia has been helping SOS Children's Village Croatia for years, and this year’s donation of HRK 35,000 will cover the annual utility bills of the SOS family living in the Marigold House.

SOS Children's Village Croatia and Siemens continue their partnership through the donation of funds to cover the utility bills of one SOS family. As in previous years, Siemens again donated HRK 35,000 to cover the utility bills of the happy and diverse family. SOS Children's Village Croatia provides home for children without adequate parental care, by placing them in a family environment and giving them love and commitment of SOS mothers. Supported by expert co-workers – psychologists, pedagogues, social workers – but also by SOS aunties, Village handymen and administrative and maintenance staff, SOS Children's Village Croatia looks after 240 children and young people in two SOS Children's Villages and four SOS Youth Facilities.

All our efforts would be in vain without the help of numerous friends, many of whom have been with us for years, such as Siemens.

Director of SOS Children's Village Lekenik said: “We thank our friends from Siemens Croatia for the donation and support they have given to SOS Children's Village Lekenik and for making sure that children in SOS families can enjoy a safe and happy childhood.”

Mr. Mladen Fogec, Chairman of the Siemens Croatia Managing Board, said the following: “Siemens has been committed to socially responsible action since its founding, fully aware of its responsibly to the society in which it operates. Being a corporate citizen is an integral part of how we understand sustainability and this fact is embedded in the philosophy of our company. With this donation, we want to contribute to the SOS Children's Village Lekenik, which looks after more than a hundred children without parents or parental care. Young people are our future and ensuring their wellbeing should be everyone’s duty.”

SOS Children's Villages look after children without parents or parental care regardless of their race, ethnicity or religion, providing them with love and security in a family environment where they can enjoy permanent home and education essential to happy and peaceful childhood. SOS Children's Village Croatia provides care for 240 children and young people: preschool and school age children live in the Villages in Ladimirevci and Lekenik, while high school students live in four SOS Youth Facilities in Osijek, Velika Gorica and Zagreb.
