Animal shelter Dumovec holds a training course in SOS Children's Village Lekenik

The goal of the training provided by Dumovec animal shelter was to raise the awareness of the role that animals play in our lives, especially of how we as human beings relate to animals, with the emphasis on the bond between dogs and people.

Trainers Petra, Neda and their wonderful dog Sisi came to visit us in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

The training program was designed for first graders through eighth graders. Children learned more about dog shelters, abandoned dogs looking for a new home and being responsible pet owners. Topics of understanding animal behavior, proper care for animals and living with them were also covered extensively. Of course, Sisi was the star of the show.

At the end, children received diplomas for their newly acquired dog skills, and Sisi patiently posed with children, as professional as any model, in between bouts of exploring the Village.

We look forward to meeting Sisi and her friends from the shelter again.
