International Children’s Book Day

SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci celebrated the International Children’s Book Day to highlight the importance of children’s books and promote and nurture children’s love of reading.

IBBY is celebrated on April 2, the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, one of the greatest children’s writers ever. To mark the occasion, children took a stroll through the wondrous world of princesses, princes, dwarves and other fairy tale denizens. Reading the fairy tales delighted them, as did drawing fairy tale motifs later on. Reach for a good children’s book yourself! Regale your soul by reading fairy tales that bring joy to children and grown-ups in equal measure!

“Stories lie in my mind like seeds and only need the kiss of a sunbeam or a drop of malice to flower.” ( H. C. Andersen)
