Safer Internet for Children and Youth

Children and youth from SOS Children's Villages took part in the campaign Safer Internet for Children and Youth, and their contributions became a part of the multimedia exhibition.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the students and teachers from the elementary school Ladimirevci, joined by the children from the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci. You can see the complete exhibition at the portal ucitelji.hr . We are certain you will be as delighted with the variety of works in the exhibition as we were: they range from Slavonian folk dances and animated Lego features to short video features and complicated pieces of software.

Approximately 6000 participants took direct part in the national campaign Safer Internet for Children and Youth, while 80 000 participated indirectly. The campaign included publishing digital educational materials such as manuals for children, parents and teachers, board and computer games, posters, presentations, teaching materials, methodical textbook How to Teach Appropriate, Responsible and Safe Internet Use, a series of lectures and workshops, as well as displaying students’ works at the multimedia exhibition on the premises of the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency.

The works submitted were made using a variety of computer applications, and we believe that the freedom participants had in terms of choosing their multimedia content and software with which to make it helped students display their knowledge of internet safety in the best possible way. The multimedia works included videos, animated features, posters, comics, drawings, glogs, presentations, quizzes, games and, in several cases, program languages.
