Children from the SOS Children's Village attend an Advent event with the president

Children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik took a trip to Zagreb, where a day-long Advent program was prepared for them, featuring a concert, a movie show and a ride around the city. They also visited the Office of the Croatian President, where they joined the Croatian president Ivo Josipović and his wife Tatjana for lunch.

Children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik spent an Advent-themed day in Zagreb on the initiative of president Josipović and Tatjana Josipović, who also joined them at the Christmas concert by the Ribnjak Kids’ Choir, held in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. While the younger children enjoyed the concert, the older kids went to watch a movie in the Cinestar movie theatre. After Lisinski, we all visited the Office of the President, where a lunch was prepared for us. We also took a tour of the Advent Fair on Zrinjevac, we rode in horse-drawn carriages and on a Christmas-themed tram.

Later we skated on the ice-rink Kronplatz Nice Ice at the Zagreb central square.

The trip to Zagreb was made possible with the donations made by the Ribnjak Kids’ Choir, Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, City of Zagreb, City of Zagreb Tourist board. Cinestar at the Arena Shopping Mall, ZET, Kronplatz Nice Ice, HBOR and Croatian Lottery also pitched in.

Croatian Lottery donated HRK 40.000 to SOS Children's Village Lekenik, and HBOR donated HRK 30.000.
