Police officers visit SOS Children's Village Lekenik

General police director Vlado Dominić, the head of the Sisak-Moslavina County Police Department Marko Rašić and their associates visited the children in SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

Under the auspices of the “We Are Your Police Officers” campaign, the children took active part in a series of interactive workshops jointly designed and organized by the Prevention Service and Explosive Device Disposal Unit of the General Police Directorate, Center for Forensic Research, Examinations and Analysis “Ivan Vučetić”, and the Police Departments of Zagreb County and Sisak-Moslavina County.

The educational workshop “Magician in Action” showed the children how police officers function as policemen, friends and helpers. Children also had the chance to see what forensic technicians do, and through the demonstration “Police Dog Searches to Help Us”, organized by the Sisak-Moslavina County Police Department and performed by one of the police dog handlers, they learned more about the ways in which a police dog helps in performing police duties.

As always, the police dog Kia was children’s favorite. At the end of the interactive program, all children stated they wanted to become police officers or forensic technicians.
To conclude the event, the general police director joined St. Nicholas in presenting children with small gifts as keepsakes of the day they spent with police officers.
