Let’s Brush Our Teeth Together

On World Oral Health Day, children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik visited the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb.

Maintaining one’s oral health is an important part of overall health care and grooming. This is why it is essential to instill in children the habit of looking after their oral hygiene from an early age. This project wants to contribute to the health and habits of children and in its humble way direct them towards better health maintenance.
Samanta, Anton and Monika from SOS Children's Village Lekenik know how important it is to brush your teeth correctly and regularly. When asked how often they brush their teeth, they said they brushed them every day.
One of the commonest reasons for avoiding dentists is fear. But Monika is not afraid. She knows what she wants to do when she grows up – she wants to be a dentist, and she already knows how to restore teeth. She showcased her dental skills for the visiting dentistry students.
“This is the youngest dentist who ever performed a check-up on me, and I have to say it was a lovely experience. I am happy to meet children who develop an interest in dental medicine from an early age, especially such sweet kids as these”, said Marko Meštrović, a dentistry student.
