Cycling for the children from SOS Children's Villages

Ljupčo Krstev from Macedonia and Daniel Milenov from Bulgaria decided to undertake an admirable charity project. During April, they will cross 1700 km on their bikes. The goal is to visit SOS Children's Villages in six Balkan countries. They chose this unique challenge as their way of raising public awareness of SOS Children's Villages and everything they do for the children without parents and parental care.

The bike tour will kick off on April 1, from the SOS Children's Village Dren in Bulgaria. The end date is scheduled for Easter Sunday, April 20. Their charity tour should bring them to SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci on April 14. Our children are already looking forward to meeting the two cyclists.

Daniel came to the SOS Children's Village in Bulgaria as a three-year-old, while Ljupčo has lived in the SOS Children's Village Skopje since he was eight years old. They are looking forward to this challenge, particularly meeting the children in SOS Children's Villages along their route and raising awareness of Villages as places that offer a caring home and family, as Ljupčo and Daniel know from personal experience. Their joint mission is to promote social responsibility, sensitivity and care for the community, to let every child know that he or she is entitled to a proper childhood and to teach them about children’s rights.

“We are truly flattered and touched by the fact that this initiative, aimed at attracting the interest and support of the general public, came directly from our very own brave cyclists…” says SOS Children's Village Croatia, where children without parents and adequate parental care get a new family and a new chance in life while being provided with much needed love and care.
