Workshop on diving and undersea wonders

Around thirty children gathered in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik to spend time with the members of the diving club “You Have to Dive” and find out more about diving and undersea wonders. As a gift for the Village, the divers brought the best underwater photographs from the Underwater Photo Marathon.

During the workshop, children watched the film about the most popular shipwreck in the world, SS Thistlegorm, the 128 meters long British ship which sank in 1941 on route from Glasgow to Alexandria. Children also had the opportunity to see an array of amazing underwater images from all over the world, and in the final part of the workshop, they learned more about diving equipment. This portion of the program attracted a great deal of interest even among the youngest children. Every one of them wanted to try on the equipment and become a diver on dry land for at least a moment.
DC “You Have To Dive” organized the 2014 Underwater Photo Marathon, and all proceeds from the sale of photographs entered into this competition will go to SOS Children's Village Croatia.
