When dreams become reality

This year, the popular cooking show Celebrity MasterChef and Nova TV decided that being great entertainment wasn’t enough, so they raised the stakes by adding a humanitarian dimension to the program. In order to instill love for gastronomy and cooking in younger generation, high-quality education is essential. With this thought in mind, Nova TV and Celebrity MasterChef decided to offer scholarship to seventeen-year-old Bernard Bušić from SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

Bernard started preparing his first meals when he was still a young boy. His love of cooking never waned, so after completing his elementary education Bernard took the logical path and enrolled in the School of Catering. After mastering the basics of cooking in high school, Bernard wanted to raise his skills to the next level. True gourmets always find a way to each other, so it isn’t a surprise that Nova TV saw the hidden culinary talent in this story and decided to help Bernard.

A professional chef who wants to conquer the world with his cooking has to have high-quality training and the experience of working with mentors at the top of their profession. Training at the Culinary Institute Kul IN opens many doors into the world of professional cooking. Realizing this, Nova TV decided to cover Bernard’s school fees at Kul IN.

Bernard will be training as an Italian cuisine professional chef. Under the mentorship of the renowned Croatian chef Zdravko Perić, new students will start their course at the Culinary Institute Kul IN on October 20, Bernard among them. It will be a beginning of a true culinary adventure. Preparing famous Italian recipes, learning Italian language, history, culture and cuisine are just one small part of the dynamic and comprehensive course awaiting them.

To ensure authenticity of the training course, after two months of attending Kul IN, the students will continue their studies at the Italian culinary academy ALMA. Working with culinary magicians is the foundation of high-quality education. Through learning from the best, Bernard will be given an opportunity to wow the world with his dishes once he completes his training.
