FC Rijeka visits SOS Children's Village Lekenik

In lieu of playing on the Lekenik football field, the Rijeka players used the postponement of the scheduled match to visit the SOS Children's Village Lekenik.

Children from Lekenik first received a visit from the sport director Srećko Juričić and administrative director Marina Vela, who brought a financial donation raised by the players, expert team and club employees, a framed football jersey signed by all the Rijeka players, a photograph from Tiraspol taken after Rijeka advanced to the group stage of the UEFA Europa League tournament, and club T-shirts, scarves, flags and other items that our children will wear with pride.
After the news about the postponed match, SOS Children's Village was visited by the Rijeka players led by their coach Matjaž Kek and team captain Dario Knežević. After a brief talk with the players, we all took a photo together to always remember this lovely occasion.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome the friends of our friends. We have enjoyed a longstanding, great collaboration with the FC Lekenik. Our children play in all their junior teams. We are very honored to be able to welcome the FC Rijeka, whose excellent performances in Europe in the past two years make us all very proud. On behalf of all our children, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for this visit, their wonderful gifts and the social awareness they have shown by visiting us here in Lekenik”, said Mario Čović, director of SOS Children's Village Lekenik.
