SOS Children's Village Croatia receives the donation from Kozmo and Young Crew

Drugstore chain Kozmo and young members of the IPMA Young Crew Croatia handed the donation in the amount of HRK 112.444,00 to the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. The donation is the result of the funding drive which ran in all Kozmo drugstores in Croatia during November. The drive was designed for SOS Children's Village Croatia by the young members of IPMA Young Crew Croatia.

This commendable drive succeeded in reaching its goal and raising significant funds that will go towards meeting the needs of SOS Children's Village Croatia. The funding drive was also made possible with the selfless contributions of many Kozmo drugstore patrons across Croatia, who donated 5 kuna each through the purchase of special, symbolic “smiles”.
Krešimir Profaca, the chairman of the Kozmo Drugstore Chain board, said on this occasion: “We are thrilled that Kozmo drugstores, its patrons and employees contributed to this funding drive. After donating products valued at HRK 80.000 in June, we believe that the funds we raised now will also help improve the living conditions of the children without adequate parental care.”
Gordana Blažević, president of IPMA Young Crew Croatia, said: “We believed in this drive from the start, but I have to admit that the enthusiastic response took even us by surprise! We put in a lot of effort, energy and time into the drive, but what makes us especially happy is the fact that our young creatives initiated the project on their own. We hope we will be able to take part in a project of this type in the next year as well. After this valuable experience and contribution to the project, we as an organization for young project managers continue to move forward.”
The president of Association SOS Children's Village Croatia, Prof. Mariza Katavić, said: “This drive combines the inventiveness and energy of young people from the Young Crew Croatia and the experience and courage of Kozmo, which took to the initiative readily. SOS Children's Village Croatia provides high quality care to children and youth, so we are always grateful for support from local companies. We are delighted that Croatian citizens have recognized this drive as a worthy one, and that they joined the big family of people making sure that children have a loving home in SOS Children's Villages in Croatia.”
And finally, the most important thought: “In this story, the smile is not free, but it doesn’t take anything away from the person giving it, while it enriches its recipients – the children in the SOS Children's Village Croatia.”
