Donation for SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci

On the initiative of teacher Mirjana Dolibašić-Pešut, the pupils of elementary school “Đuro Pilar” from Slavonski Brod and their parents raised a valuable donation of books and board games for children, and brought them to the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci together with delicious cakes and cookies for all SOS families.

The pupils of the district school “Đuro Pilar” in Kolonija have proven themselves to be genuine humanitarians. Led by their teacher Mirjana Dolibašić-Pešut, they organized a donation drive before Easter and sent boxes full of gifts to SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci.
They raised 180 books and encouraged other school pupils, parents and members of baking and sewing workshops in the Trade School to join their drive. They packed and wrapped all donated items. They also worked for weeks on making small handbags, Easter decorations and greeting cards.
This big drive in a small school once again took place under the keen eye of Gita and Lapitch. These two literary characters have become a symbol of every donation drive undertaken by this school.
Our guests spent time with the children and SOS mothers in SOS Houses Grape and Apricot, where they learned more about the way of life in SOS families.
We are deeply thankful for your beautiful gifts and your cheerful company!
