Public call for project trainers

We are seeking trainers for the project “Training of Care Professionals”!

In January 2015, we began implementing the project “Training of Care Professionals”, developed in partnership between SOS Children’s Villages International, the Council of Europe, Eurochild and partners in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Italy, Latvia, Hungary and Romania. The project will run in the period between January 2015 and December 2016. The project partner in Croatia is SOS Children's Village Croatia, which will be in charge of implementing all project activities.
The project aims to support and promote the rights of children and young people living in alternative care. This purpose will be accomplished through two essential activities:
Providing care professionals who work in alternative care with continued training in how to apply a child rights-based approach to their everyday practice.

Working with national and international stakeholders and promoting trainings for care professionals working in alternative care.
As one of the project partners, SOS Children's Village Croatia shall provide training for 120 care professionals working with children and young people in alternative care in the Republic of Croatia and, in cooperation with other partners, participate in the development of the European handbook for the training of care professionals by the end of 2016. We are confident that this approach and continued focus on training care professionals will have a direct impact on the quality of work with children and young people.

To fulfill the purpose of this project, we need to hire two experts who will deliver trainings for care professionals working with children and young people in alternative care on the basis of previously developed training modules, handbooks and auxiliary material.

Applicants for the position of the trainer must meet the following requirements:
• legal residence in the Republic of Croatia
• college degree
• at least three years of work experience in alternative care
• prior experience of running practical training courses
• fluent in spoken and written English
• able to be work for twenty-one days in the period between November 2015 and June 2016, in keeping with arrangements made with the contractor and the schedule of project activities that have to be performed
• (implied ability to participate in the “train the trainers” workshop scheduled to take place in Budapest on November 16 – 18, 2015, ability to deliver trainings (5 locations, 2 days each) in the period between January 2016 and June 2016, 11 days of preparation for delivery of trainings)

In the period for which he/she has been hired, the trainer shall be obliged to:
• participate in the “train the trainers” workshop in Budapest, November 16 – 18, 2015
• deliver a two-day course on five locations
• deliver trainings in compliance with the assigned Handbook
• cooperate with the project team and follow logistical instructions for training delivery
• draft work plan for every course in cooperation with the project team
• submit a report after every completed training course

The trainers shall be provided with:
• a free two-day “train the trainers” workshop in Budapest, November 16 – 18, 2015
• all educational and other material required for training delivery
• fee calculated on the number of work days in the project (21 days – 10 days of training courses + 11 days for preparation)
• all expenses of traveling to training locations and all accommodation and food expenses

All applicants who pass the initial screening shall be contacted for interviews with the members of the National Steering Committee.
