SOS Bike Tour on a sunny day fills the hearts of our little cycling masters

Another SOS Bike Tour has come and gone. At the end of the day, we were left with suntanned faces, dusty bikes, bellies full of tasty goulash and hearts filled with laughter and another wonderful memory.

Supported by around a hundred cyclists who embarked on the bike tour from one of Zagreb’s central squares to join the rest of the participants in Lekenik, children and young people from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik completed another memorable bike tour.

This time the weather was on our side – it was a wonderful, sunny day tailor-made for cycling through the Village. Numerous friends, families and partners joined our merry ‘caravan’, which started from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik at 10 o’clock.
After two-and-a-half-hour ride, two short breaks and refreshments, a somewhat tired band of cyclists returned to the Village, where a delicious lunch awaited them. After a brief respite to recharge their batteries, it was time for the sports portion of the day: the bicycle testing range, badminton, tug-of-war, football and other fun activities.

Late in the afternoon, the cyclists from the SOS Bicycle group, which was founded to provide bicycles for the children in SOS Children's Village Lekenik, left to return to Zagreb. We are thankful for their continued support of the SOS Bike Tour.

At the end of this lovely get-together, it bears repeating that SOS Bike Tour stands out for not being competitive in nature. Its goals are strictly humanitarian. In anticipation of the bike tour itself, we launched a campaign called ‘Cycle and Donate’, and cherished friends of the children and young people from SOS Children's Village Croatia expressed their support through Facebook, sharing photos of themselves on bicycles and the following sentence: 'Ride your bike and call this number: 060 90 55. Hop on your bike and call, healthy living is good for all!’
