Who cares about the heat! Summer in Lekenik is as fun as ever

Children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik are spending these hot summer days playing and having fun.

You don’t have to be at the seaside to enjoy summer, as aunties from the Mobile Team of the project ‘A Loving Home for Every Child’ demonstrate every day. From Monday to Thursday, they always have something fun prepared for the children.

With the help of an educator from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik, young and always inventive aunties from the Mobile Team organize workshops and playrooms for children of different ages. In the two weeks since summer workshops first began, our younger kids have built a beautiful aquarium, interesting mazes, they played a number of fun games with balls, water balloons, and they played catch and other games…

Kids over the age of ten have fun with board games, such as ‘Bingo’, ‘Wheel of Fortune’, charades, treasure hunts or playing postman.

The children in sixth, seventh and eighth grades enjoy games that offer an intellectual challenge, such as quizzes or vocabulary games.

On Thursday afternoons, all children simply hang together and have a relaxing time watching movies or cartoons. Their free time is filled with laughter, joy and learning through play, and this will continue in Lekenik until the end of summer. We also welcome children from outside the SOS Village with open arms!
