Good job, Mateja! You are the pride of SOS Children's Village Croatia

Mateja Solomun is a girl who makes us very proud. Young, smart and successful, Mateja has demonstrated that hard work, honest effort and excelling in school can reap impressive rewards.

Due to circumstances beyond her control, Mateja did not grow up in her biological family. Instead, she found her second home in SOS Children's Village Croatia. Surrounded by love and attention of her SOS mother in the safe and comfortable family environment, Mateja decided to take firm hold of opportunities offered to her and invest in her education. She was aware of how much she could achieve if she did well in school. And her hard work has paid off. Thanks to her excellent grades in school, this wonderful young lady has won a scholarship at the Edward Bernays College of Communication Management.

Mateja accepted this prestigious award for hard work and commitment at the Superbrands event that Superbrands Croatia organized to mark the end of another successful business year. They also used this occasion to launch the redesign of the Superbrands book, the cover of which features a detail from the traditional folk costume worn by the LADO folk ensemble.

“Superbrands are brands that really stand out in an ever-expanding sea of similar products or services in today’s market. Consumers choose them with good reason. Superbrands spent years carefully building up their distinctive and unique branding and that is what makes them recognizable and desirable in comparison to the competition in the oversaturated market today”, said Vesna Sekalec, director of the Superbrands project in Croatia and Slovenia.
In the twenty years that it has been active, the Superbrands organization has become an authority on branding, with strong foundation in the Croatian market as well. Zagreb agency Dhar Media and its sister company Ideja are owners of the official Superbrands license in Croatia and Slovenia.

“It has been another year of reinforcing our standing as the independent authority on branding, which has already been active in Croatia for the past decade. We will be celebrating this anniversary next year and we plan to mark it with another giant leap, which will bring us even closer to our partner brands and reaffirm their trust in us; we will continue to highlight extraordinary brands and their achievements through all communication channels available to us, especially through the specialist journal Brend kultura, further strengthening the status of the Superbrands organization as the independent authority on branding”, said Lea Brezar, director of Dhar Media.
The event took place in the exclusive and charming Poppy Showroom, a venue for business meetings and other promotional events. Iva Šulentić hosted the event.

Speech therapy for all the children in Lekenik and Glina

SOS Children's Village Lekenik will continue to implement a project of speech therapy diagnostics, treatment and counselling for all the children in the Lekenik Municipality and the Township of Glina. So far, as many as 587 children have been included in this project.
