Knights and our children led by Santa Claus save Christmas

On a cold winter night, children from the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci received a highly anticipated visit from unusual guests.

From the Papuk hillside, where medieval fort Ružica-grad still stands tall, real live knights came to our Village. For an hour, they took our children on a trip to the past, when humble serfs gathered wood for kindling and duchesses had their own knights. The play they performed centered on the Papuk band of knights and Evil Queen who wanted to rule Papuk and destroy the spirit of Christmas. Thanks to duchess Ružica, Black Knight, serfs and children all joining forces to fight her, the spirit of Christmas was saved.

Thanks to the magic woven by the children and their dear guests, at the end of the evening we had a visit from the real Santa Claus bearing a bag full of presents! The message of togetherness and Christmas joy warmed us on this Yuletide evening and made it unforgettable.
