A giant Easter egg appears in Lekenik

Our traditional event “Let’s Welcome the Storks” was held in Lekenik recently for the seventh year in a row. It was attended by many children who greeted the returning storks with a mix of songs and poems that celebrate the arrival of spring.

In sunny Lekenik, in front of a traditional Lekenik cottage decorated with children’s drawings, folklore society Kolovrat opened this cultural and environmental event with a song.

Children from the ES Mladost Lekenik, Kindergarten Lekenik and SOS Children's Village Lekenik “Little Playroom” prepared a wonderful programme, enjoyed by the friends and associates of the Lekenik Municipality, the Lekenik Mayor Ivica Perović and Head of the Sisak-Moslavina County Agricultural Department Ljiljana Križanić.

The event also welcomed a special guest, Mr. Zdravko Mihec. Acting on behalf of Koprivnica-Križevci County Tourist Board, he brought a giant Easter egg and installed it in front of the old cottage. The moment of unveiling the Easter egg delighted everyone present, especially the children, who rushed to take photos next to it.

The event ended with a popular children’s song “When You’re Happy”. Everyone sang along! Despite the fact that the storks failed to make an appearance, we are sure that they heard our children singing and that they are flying towards the sunny Lekenik with even more determination than before.
