A story about a lazy cricket and hard-working ant comes to Ladimirevci from Zadar

Children from the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci received a visit from the students of the Department of Kindergarten and School Teacher Education at the University of Zadar, as well as their professors.

Our dear guests, led by the Department Head Prof. Smiljana Zrilić, PhD, contributed to the sunny Saturday in Ladimirevci with a play and educational workshops.

Thanks to the students and lovely weather, children from SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci started their Easter holidays in an outdoor setting. The girls performed a play “The Cricket and the Ant” for them in the Village amphitheatre. They wrote all the dialogues and songs for the play themselves and they also designed the stage set. Our kids watched this story about helping each other with delight and they held a standing ovation for our guests afterwards.

After the play, it was time for the workshops. The first workshop was dedicated to didactic and board games and the second was an art workshop for the children who wanted to draw scenes from the play. This visit has resulted in many wonderful experiences for all the participants and a multitude of children’s drawings to decorate our Village.
