City of Valpovo supports the Family Strengthening Programme

After two years of successful work in the Sisak-Moslavina County, the SOS Children's Village Croatia Family Strengthening Programme was also launched in Osijek-Baranja County, immediately garnering a great deal of support.

The Family Strengthening Programme, aimed at preventing the separation of children from their biological families, has been embraced by the City of Valpovo and Osijek-Baranja County. SOS Children's Village signed a donation agreement in the amount of HRK 20.000,00 with the City of Valpovo, making the City of Valpovo a co-financing partner in the FS programme that will be implemented by the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci Mobile Team.

At the beginning of the year, Osijek-Baranja County provided funds in the amount of HRK 50.000,00 for the same project, which was launched in mid-March. SOS Mobile Team, currently consisting of one psychologist and supported by the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci child development team, works with five families, i.e., twenty-five individuals in all.

City of Valpovo and SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci intend to work on the sustainability of the Family Strengthening Programme, and thus on preventing the separation of children from their biological families. The plan for the future is to apply for public grants. At the moment, we are waiting for the European Social Fund call for applications to be announced.
