SOS Youth Facility in Zagreb celebrates 20th anniversary!

A modest celebration for the young people, colleagues and friends in the Zagreb neighborhood Vidovčica marked the 20th anniversary of the SOS Youth Facility Zagreb.

This Youth Facility began working in 1996 and today it boasts a large number of successful projects, collaborations and unbreakable friendships.

The director of the SOS Youth Facility Mr. Dražen Virag was very proud to accept congratulations for the 20th anniversary of the Youth Facility, which he celebrated with dear colleagues from the Association SOS Children's Village Croatia.

About SOS Youth Facilities
Our Youth Facilities provide care for approximately forty young people. Teenage-age children move to the Youth Facilities after they complete the primary school and enroll in high school. We are proud of our semi-independent living program and other forms of after care. Looking after young people in the Youth Facility are educators trained in various fields of humanities. By living in the Youth Facility, young people gain more freedom, but also take on greater responsibility in their day-to-day life.

Youth Facilities are designed to encourage young people to be self-reliant so that they are ready to live on their own after leaving care. To that end, young people do household chores, maintain the garden and learn the basics of cooking, all with the support of their educators. Two or three young people share a room together. After completing their study time, young people prefer to spend time together in the common room.
