When young athletes join forces, anything is possible

Our children are well aware of the importance of physical fitness, so it’s not surprising that they were happy to welcome trainers attached to the nationwide project called Active Croatia.

Our little fitness enthusiasts gathered in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik Social Center, where they completed the 20-minute workout in a disciplined and focused manner. Thanks to imaginative exercises designed by professional fitness trainers, all our children, SOS mothers and aunties enjoyed their morning workout.

We are committed to teaching our children how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet, so their awareness is already quite high. For example, members of the SOS family living in SOS Poppy House all work out regularly, thanks to their SOS mother Iskra.

“In our SOS house, we follow the famous motto ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body’. We do our best to eat healthy foods by using organically grown produce from our own garden in the SOS house yard. I am a great believer in sports and I enjoy working out, so every morning my entire SOS family and I work out together. In fact, we do everything together: working out, cooking, studying, playing, laughing and crying. I have three boys and two girls in the house. The boys attend primary school but my best partner in all things related to sports is our youngest, Ivana, who loves to work out. I am confident that I will be able to teach her healthy habits and healthy lifestyle!” Iskra tells us.
