What kind of friend is Hedgemond the Hedgehog? How about you?

Is there a better way to spend a snowy and rainy March than in a ‘hedgehog’s home’? Kindergartners from Lekenik found this to be the ideal setting for learning through play.

The Social Centre in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik welcomed around hundred preschool children to the screening of the animated version of the always popular tale of Hedgemond the Hedgehog, which they greeted with great excitement.

All the children received their tickets, popcorn and soft drinks just like in a real movie theatre and they watched the adventures in Hedgehog’s Home with bated breath. Through songs and expert guidance of their educators, our children learned a lot about friendship, trust, helping each other and they deepened their knowledge of forest animals big and small.

In addition to children, the event was also attended by many employees of the Lekenik Kindergarten and SOS Children's Village Lekenik. It was the culmination of a series of educational workshops that ran throughout March.

This was the result of collaboration between Children's Village Lekenik and Lekenik Kindergarten. Together they launched the first in the cycle of educational workshops that offer diverse activities for kindergarten playgroups, Little School and Little Playroom in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. The collaboration will continue throughout the year, on a monthly basis.
