Croatian President visits SOS Children's Village Lekenik

The Croatian President Ms. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović visited the SOS Children's Village Lekenik on Tuesday, June 19.

Upon arriving to the Village, the President was welcomed by the president of Association SOS Children's Village Croatia Prof. Mariza Katavić, SOS Children's Village Croatia National Director Višnja Tuškan-Krupić and SOS Children's Village Lekenik director Mario Čović.

Madam President then visited the SOS Iris House, where she met SOS mother Verica Filipčić and her children. The hosts spoke to the President about the activities undertaken by the Association SOS Children's Village Croatia and about what makes the SOS approach to child care special.
After a pleasant conversation in the SOS house, everyone proceeded to the Social Centre, where Prof. Mariza Katavić welcomed the President on behalf of all children in the SOS Children's Village Croatia. The SOS Children's Village Lekenik Little Fairy Tale Theatre performed an excerpt from their play The Story of Little Lapitch as Told in Verse, written and directed by Rusmir Agačević. After the play, children who participate in the hobby art workshop led by Ms Mirjana Kranželić gave the President gifts that they made themselves (a silk print, a brooch and flowers) and then the President, children and co-workers all took photos together.
