Proud children and teenagers

Excitement and worry, joy and tears, congratulations, gifts and hugs made this day special for all the residents of the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci.

SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci chose the first day of September to hold the traditional ceremony to commend the best students for their accomplishments in the previous school year.

The ceremony also included the first-graders to give them courage for the first day of school and it served as a farewell to our brand new high schoolers, who are moving to the SOS Youth Facility in Osijek.

The best students were happy to celebrate the beginning of the new school year and the reunion with their classmates. Our little first-graders were visibly proud that they are starting school. The new high schoolers were both wistful over leaving the Village and curious about their new schools and living environment.

Some of the participants in the ceremony are still very young while others are well on their way to adulthood, but they all share the same sense of pride in opening a new chapter in their life.
