Dentist for a day

An interesting and educational workshop took place in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik recently.

What causes cavities, how to prevent them and the effect that sweets have on our teeth – children from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik learned about these issues and more at the educational workshop organized for them by the Apolonija Dental Clinic.

At the end of this enlightening lecture, one of our kids asked: “So Gric and Grec aren’t real?” After getting the answers to all their dilemmas, children had the opportunity of experiencing how it feels to be a dentist right there on the spot, in the Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre. They examined each other’s teeth, learned to use the dental instruments and even wrote down the diagnoses.

They had a great deal of fun and we are quite sure that their next dentist’s appointment will be far less stressful now that they experienced how it feels to hold a dental mirror and give advice on dental health.

They were especially delighted when the company Medelto began handing out dental hygiene packages from their Zoobzone range. Gric and Grec may not be real, but teeth definitely need regular care!
