Grown-up hikers visit the young hiking apprentices

Our dear friends, hikers from the Zanatlija Hiking Society in Osijek, visited the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci, bringing some lovely gifts with them.

The Osijek hikers who came to see us have been hiking with the kids from the SOS Children's Village Ladimirevci for the past three years. Our dear friends didn’t come empty-handed. They donated hiking equipment and membership fees for our little hikers.

They met with four hikers who are also the members of the society’s junior hiking section Dumina in their house, called the SOS Rosehip House. The four children and their SOS mother Andreja have been hiking since 2017.

The two youngest boys in the house, who found brand new hiking sticks under the Christmas tree, are looking forward to their first hike. As is always the case with hikers, the gathering was full of laughter, songs and anecdotes about past hikes as they all anticipated their first hike this year. Everyone is eager to start the hiking season!
