Award-winning photographers in a campaign to help children without parental care

We have partnered with CEWE to organize an exhibition of photos from “Our World is Beautiful”, the biggest global photography competition in 2017, which will be open in the Grič Tunnel throughout April.

The exhibition will feature 20 photos by Croatian authors and 20 photos by international authors, all of whom participated in the biggest photography competition in the world in 2017, Our World is Beautiful 2017. The eponymous exhibition celebrates the beauty of life and the pleasure taken in the nature that surrounds us and interaction with people from different cultures and regions. It also inspires and motivates us to preserve the beauty of the world. Whether it is natural landscapes, social activities or people themselves, the responsibility to preserve and care for our community is strongly connected to the level of happiness that we as emotional beings are capable of feeling.

This is precisely the message that SOS Children's Village Croatia wants to convey to our community and how we want to inspire all the exhibition goers in the Grič Tunnel. This is why we want to invite everyone to take a walk down the tunnel in April and view the exhibition.

Among the numerous authors who generously donated photographs for this exhibition are the following Croatian photographers: Tomislav Safundžić, Alan Grubelić, Paulo Dukić, Vlatka Glasnović and Toma Kezić. Each of these selfless artists donated several of their works to be auctioned off at the SOS Children's Village Croatia Facebook auction after the closing of the exhibition. All proceeds will go to the children growing up in our care.
As they view the exhibition, the visitors will be able to make donations to SOS Children's Village Croatia by using a mobile application and 2D codes placed along the Grič Tunnel, contributing in their own way to the provision of loving home for the children in our care.

Cooperation between Association SOS Children's Village Croatia and CEWE
CEWE believes that its commercial success is also an obligation to be socially responsible. To this end, SOS Children's Villages around the world and CEWE have built a close partnership since 2013. During this time, CEWE has donated € 1 million to families and children in need around the world. In addition to fixed projects, CEWE also supports currently ongoing humanitarian aid programmes. In 2017, this included help for the starving children in Somalia and humanitarian aid to the Diffa region, a border region between Niger and Nigeria. The cooperation with SOS Kinderdorf International has become a source of particular privilege and joy for CEWE, so financial support is not our only means of helping. Many of our employees are involved in various activities on locations in Germany and Europe. We have developed particularly close ties with the SOS Children's Villages in Ghana, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, France, Germany, Belgium and Croatia.

CEWE has been a longstanding partner and faithful friend to the Association SOS Children's Village Croatia. For the past three years, their imaginative world of photography has been enriching the lives of children growing up in SOS Children's Villages. Regular courses for young photography enthusiasts have resulted in several successful exhibitions in the SOS Children's Villages. CEWE also makes sure to celebrate all our birthdays, anniversaries and important events through photography. We look forward to new collaborations and joint creation of memories that can never be erased.
