Training for strong and healthy professionals, children and young people

Our new project “Strong & Healthy”, which we are running in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, is focused on empowering children and preventing abuse and aggressive behaviour through trainings for our co-workers and external collaborators from the local communities where our SOS Children's Villages are based.
While creating caring homes for the children in our care, we pay a lot of attention to the training of our child development team, staff and collaborators who work in our SOS Children's Villages and SOS Youth Facilities every day.

Investing in knowledge and skills of professionals caring for children and young people enhances the quality of care we provide for them. As part of the “Strong & Healthy “ project, we are currently running a series of trainings targeted at strengthening knowledge and skills of our employees and external collaborators through teaching them new methods, innovative tools and work techniques, which will make their everyday work easier and empower children and young people for daily challenges of growing up.

In addition to empowering children to take care of their personal safety and resilience, the trainings are also focused on the work with children with neurodevelopmental difficulties and on the prevention of and coping with aggressive behaviours of children and young people. The goal of the trainings is to respond to the needs of children and young people in our care and to ensure they can lead peaceful and healthy lives.

Trainings under the “Strong & Healthy” project are the continuation of the successful collaboration between SOS Children's Village Croatia and Johnson & Johnson on the project “Health is a Treasure”, which ensures appropriate health and hygiene conditions for children and young people in our care.
