A celebration to mark the summer break for the project that nurtures imagination

School children were not the only ones to celebrate the end of the school year in style. Our kindergarten groups also marked this day by participating in the 12th workshop we have been running in cooperation with the Lekenik Kindergarten.

A big dance emceed by teacher Anita in the Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre marked the ending of the first part of the project called Children’s Imaginarium.

The joint workshop that has been running since July 2018 as part of the Children’s Imaginarium project offers a variety of educational activities for children aged three to fifteen. The activities are carried out by the SOS Children's Village Lekenik employees and numerous collaborators, volunteers and guests.
The project is funded by the Croatia for Children Foundation and the Sisak-Moslavina County Social Welfare Department. As many as 233 children took part in it so far, 164 of whom are children from the local community.

The goal of the Children’s Imaginarium is to provide quality support for the comprehensive development of children without adequate parental care, while also providing support for the development of other children living in the Lekenik Municipality.
After they danced their hearts off, children enjoyed soft drinks and cookies and received medals for their hard work during the past year. This is just a temporary goodbye. The project will start again in September and our little friends will be reunited, to daydream and let their imaginations run free again.
