Having fun and learning with Ban Jelačić and Klempaj the Mailman

For the 12th year in a row, a popular cultural event called Days of Ban Jelačić and Klempaj the Mailman took place in Lekenik, scripted and directed by Rusmir Agačević, author and director of the SOS Children's Village Lekenik Little Fairy Tale Theat

This event, which is supported by the SOS Children's Village Lekenik, has grown into a traditional festival renowned around the Sisak-Moslavina County. In addition to cultural societies from Lekenik and drama and singing groups from the surrounding villages, children and creative workshops from the SOS Children's Village Lekenik Hermann Gmeiner Social Centre also contributed greatly to the event.

Lekenik Municipality Tourist Board organized the event and a lot of the programme took place in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. For example, our children enthusiastically competed in the “Little Mailman” tournament, where they had the chance to showcase their skill, agility and speed when it comes to bicycle riding. Children in the SOS Children's Village always look forward to this 3-day festival. Not only do they have a great deal of fun, they always learn about interesting events from the Croatian history.
