From now on we print in 3D

Thanks to a valuable donation of a 3D printer, robots and other equipment, our little roboticists in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik will be able to continue developing their knowledge and skills.

Thanks to the cooperation between Rotary E-Club Croatia, Rotary Club Zagreb Centre and IRIM (Institute for Youth Development and Innovativity), as well as the Erste Bank donation, children in the SOS Children's Village Lekenik will be able to hone their robotics skills and ideas on new robots and they will also be able to turn their 3D models designed on computers to reality by using a 3D printer under the guidance of their mentor.

Although our children have already learned many new things by now, new tools require new training, which will be held by the IRIM educators to enrich the children with new knowledge and experiences.

This donation is the continuation of the project through which the children from the SOS Children's Village Hinterbrühl in Austria participated in the robotics and programming training held by the children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik, who used micro:bits and mBot robots as a teaching tool.

Children from SOS Children's Village Lekenik have been active participants in the IRIM activities for the past several years (Croatian Makers League, STEM Revolution, Internet of Things technologies, STEM Car…), with excellent results. For example, during the previous school year, they were the best Croatian Makers League team in the Velika Gorica region.
